Free: Initial Tutoring Consultation and Individual Assessment

*1) The initial tutoring consultation is free of charge. 

*2) The tutoring consultation is held with the student and his or her parents, both must present*,  in the home and usually takes no more than an hour. 

*3) Westside Tutoring (WT) then constructs a tutoring plan suitable for the needs of the individual.

*4) The individualized tutoring plan is then initiated at the earliest possible convenience for the student, his or her family, and Westside-Tutoring.

5) Please note: 

Because the bulk of Westside Tutoring's business focuses solely on one client at a time, all programs are individualized and private. Tutoring, and each tutoring program, is unique.

To be successful, we can only take so many students per semester.

6) Westside-Tutoring's primary concern is the quality of instruction, not how many students we can tutor in any one session.

We offer quality, both in our approach to the student's needs, wants, and desires, and in the results. We are dedicated to a unique and individualized method of instruction. 

It is quality over quantity at Westside Tutoring. WT will never fill a room up with 5-15 students and hope to make an impact, that is not why we are in business.

7) Westside-Tutoring will make every effort to meet when it is convenient for the student and his or her family.

8) Westside Tutoring accepts cash, personal checks, and money orders. Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and electronic check are accepted through PayPal. Secured transactions for your convenience. 

9) Westside Tutoring will also assist students in making application for private, local, state, and federal funding that may be available. When to Start & What We Offer

1) Pre-schoolers and Kindergarteners

NO!

It is not too young to start! In fact, we wish more parents would involve their children in a structured pre-school tutoring program at least 2 times per week.

What better time to initiate a life long love affair with learning? Yes, learning is a process...but it should also be FUN! It is at this level that the value of individualized pre-school tutoring becomes evident. 

Kids get all the help they need while having fun doing it. We wish we could always get them this young! 

Our area of specialization with students this age is separation and connection issues.

2) Middle School Tutoring 

The amount of homework and the depth of the subject matter middle school students face today would have staggered a college student 20-30 years ago.

We can help whether your student is stressed with respect to a single subject, like algebra or science, or just overwhelmed and in need of study and time management skills.

Our individualized approach to tutoring addresses these issues specifically.

3) High School Students

Westside Tutoring is a multidisciplinary tutoring service. Meaning, we tutor all subjects at all levels.

Westside-Tutoring can assist the high school student overwhelmed with homework, subject content, and test preparation and taking. 

Westside-Tutoring can also assist the student who just needs a little bit of polish in order to get into the college of their dreams.

What is Your Next Step?

1) Assess your son's or daughter's needs, wants, and desires. Remember, the initial consultation is free and in your home. 

2) Plan to discuss areas of interest as well as areas of concern, those equiring immediate action. 

3) We will discuss a method that is both singular and effective in its approach. There is a built in flexibility to our style of tutoring that makes it just the right tool for one-on-one tutoring situations.

Plan to ask questions during the consultation, write them down ahead of time so we can cover them. 

4) We are into reading and writing in a big way. 

All students will receive instruction tailored to improve the student's ability to communicate.

5) Tutoring sessions will usually be 90 minutes 2 or 3 times per week, for 8 to 12 weeks.

If time constraints are an issue because of other activities, please bring up your concerns at the initial consultation.

More time and/or longer sessions (for those wishing ongoing, monthly sessions) may be blocked off if it is clear the student wants and needs it.

6) Sessions are usually held at Westside-Tutoring but may also be conducted in the student's home.

Summer sessions, in particular, may be conducted at an alternate, mutually acceptable site (library, museum, student union), provided the student is available for the longer esession and has parental consent.

The tutoring fee structure is based primarily on the time dedicated to the student and is paid at least one month in advance. 

EXCEPTION: In some instances a single session is called for. These situations include the following: writing assignment assistance, research proposal assistance, technical writing, single test preparation, and single assignment difficulties.

Fees for single sessions are paid in advance to a Westside-Tutoring.com representative or to PayPal.
