What do we do?

We tutor in the home and online.

Westside Tutoring (WT) will use whatever media our client is comfortable with.

• Student athletes: The particular academic requirements and demands on an athlete's time make their situation unique, we understand and can help. We have had the privilege to work with some great area athletes (amateur and professional) who were also awesome students.

THE PARTNERSHIP

I've had the parents of children we've tutored say to me too many times to count: "I can say that until I'm blue in the face and he/she just doesn't listen. But when you say something to them, the same thing I just finished saying, they do it!" 

I have to explain to them, Mom and Dad, that I am not an authority figure, at least not in the sense their kids are used to having authority thrust at them. I am just Professor Z and I don't come to the relationship with years of baggage and preconceived notions.

I'm just there to try to help them become better students, athletes or both.

I wish I could explain it better, and I am sure there are psychologists and psychiatrists out there that would love to try. I just know one thing, kids respond and we don't fight it, we use the rappore to build a relationship that makes learning that much easier, that much more positive.

Over the last thirty years I have coached and/or tutored, at the very least, hundreds of students.

I know one thing, I've learned it and it never fails to be right on the money. It is an absolute truth and I would place it above any of the canned platitudes that the self-help, know-yourself (but pay me first) Gurus out there try to sell us. I know this, if there were a way to bottle and market it, I'd be a billionaire today.
